Nest table
Svenskt Tenn
In 2026, we returned to Svenskt Tenn with a new piece – the Nest Table. The table consists of a woven leather basket with hand-painted cornflower blue edges and a round tray in polished stainless steel.
“The humanism in Josef Frank’s work – his view of movement, flexibility, and the home as a living, permissive space – has been an important source of inspiration. The table embodies the combination of function and beauty that we see as central to Svenskt Tenn’s interior philosophy: a jewel for the room.”

The table was developed through an open, exploratory process, testing materials and construction methods before arriving at the combination of leather and steel. The weaving ultimately became the table’s structural foundation, with craftsmanship shaping both the process and the final expression.

“Respect for craftsmanship is central to our design process – the relationship between idea and craft is deeply intertwined. The creative concept is always the starting point, but the material, process, and craftsmanship are decisive for the final result.”

The Nest Table was designed in dialogue with Svenskt Tenn’s existing collection, relating naturally to Josef Frank’s pattern tradition, design language, and history. A key idea was to explore pattern not as decoration, but as structure – translating a pattern into a three-dimensional object.
