For Georg Jensen Christmas Collectibles 2018, Monica Förster Design Studio presents a nature-inspired collection of contemporary ornaments featuring: a winter bird, an acorn, a birdhouse, and a pinecone.
This year’s highly collectible mobile features a plump winter bird delicately perched on a wire, underneath a branch of mistletoe hanging from the frame of a birdhouse. Dangling from a red or forest green ribbon, the mobile moves gracefully, animating the small still-life taking place within.
The Christmas Collectibles 2018 reveal Förster’s sensitively modern aesthetic, as well as her playful approach to form and decoration. With their simple, graphic silhouettes, rich textures and fine detailing, Förster’s dynamic ornaments feel decidedly modern while celebrating the long-standing Scandinavian tradition for holiday decoration.
